Having Children Young and Using Your Words

We were in the grocery store and, as usual, I had all three of my girls packed into the one cart. Usually, I get some stares and some comments along the line of how I've got my hands full, or gosh you've been busy. Argh!! Those comments I hate, but today someone said something that made me feel good about having all my babies and having them at a young age, close together. It was very short, but it really made me feel good. All she said was that it was much better to have children when you're young and stronger...you're certainly more patient. I appreciated her words. It made me feel younger, stronger and more patient as I loaded the children and the groceries into the van. It also made me think about the impact of words. I appreciated her words and it made my day a little better to have heard them. Sometimes I certainly don't think before I speak and just do or say whatever comes to mind. While by nature, I am a shy person, I also am a very strong-spirited person. I know what I believe and what I think, and many times it is very difficult for me to hold my tongue to really think about how my words will affect someone. So here is a good reminder from God for Sarah today. Words can make you feel better, but they can also hurt. It is better to build up than to tear down. :)

What is love?

I've had reason to wonder recently about what love truly is. This passage was read at my wedding and I looked at it myself when Aaron and I were becoming more serious. I thought I'd share it here as a reminder to myself and to you.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."'

The Molly Dog

We've joined the ranks of happy dog owners recently with the addition to our family of Molly, our nine week old sheltie puppy. She's doing really well, no real whining or nipping to speak of. She's a very friendly dog and jumps straight up in the air when she's excited, which is every time we come outside. :) Yes, she is a strictly outside dog. For those of you who truly know me, you know I am not a great cleaner of the house. It is difficult enough for me to keep up with the dirt that my small family makes without adding a dog's dirt on top of that. So, Molly shall remain outside, but the girls love her to bits and are spending practically every waking moment running around with her.
